Self sabotage is when we actively or passively take steps to prevent ourselves from reaching our goals which can span from personal, relational, career, and/or health goals.
I can honestly admit and I know that I am not alone when I say that I am and have been guilty of this. It is not something that I am proud of but I want to be transparent because I know that many people struggle or have struggled with this as well.
There has been points in my life where I would self sabotage out of fear and anxiety of the unknown and just things not going my way, but as I have grown into this renewed, wiser and more self aware being, I realize that not only was I acting out of fear, but I was also extinguishing and diminishing all the work, gifts, and talents that God has put inside of me to give back to the world. Specifically the people and places that I am called to serve.
Essentially what is happening when we self sabotage is we are killing our purpose instead of actively pursuing it.
The takeaway for you today is to stop reducing who you truly are and conforming to society’s norms by allowing the spirits of comparison, lack, and fear of the unknown to cripple and confuse you into thinking that your purpose is not needed. Those are LIES, YOU ARE NEEDED!
