Today is wash day and as a natural wash day can be almost a day long process depending on the texture, length and styling of your hair. I have 4C hair (thick tightly coiled hair) so for me and my other 4C sisters wash day is a PROCESS!
So here I am ready or so I though for wash day prepping by getting all my wash day necessities together and I realize that I didn’t have any deep conditioner! Now I don’t know about you all but not having a deep conditioning treatment or hair mask is a No No for me on wash day especially since I’m a naturalista. My textured hair requires a lot more moisture than the average straight or looser curl hair. At the time, I considered going out to purchase some deep conditioner, but then I realized I could just make my own with what I already have in my fridge and pantry. Not to mention that I always wanted to try a homemade conditioner, so now was the perfect opportunity to do so. Plus as you can see from my photos it was time for my base items (the avocado and banana) to go lol. Below is the hair mask recipe. This recipe is super easy and is less than 5 minutes to make.
Avocado Hair Mask
- 1 small or half of a large ripe avocado
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tbsp honey
To make your hair mask all you need are the ingredients listed above and a blender. It’s that simple. Just add all your ingredients into your blender and on the medium to highest speed begin to blend until creamy smooth. Once you’re done pour your mask into a small mixing bowl and set aside until you’re ready to use it. Not only is this hair mask super moisturizing and enhances your curls, but it is tasty too. Give this hair mask a try and let me know in the comments how you and your hair like it.
Love,
your girl Steph
