Hey hey heyyyyyy family and welcome back! Although we aren’t entirely out of the quarantine/social distancing woods, we are in our first phase of that reality. As many of you may already know, but for those who don’t, I reside in New Jersey one of the states hit the hardest with the amount of Covid-19 cases (alongside New York and California). Sadly, as reported, many lives have been lost and many are still infected while others are out there risking their lives (good/bad) with the possibility of contracting it. I am happy to report that New Jersey and New York are now on the other side of the curve, again we are not entirely out of the woods, but I do see the light. Be sure to continue practicing social distancing, wearing your mask and of course washing your hands! Now, this isn’t supposed to be a heavy post, I just wanted to make sure we touch on what has been going on and remind us all that life is short. Therefore, stop and smell the roses, learn to enjoy the journey, and stop stressing about things we can’t change. Moreover, I have grown into being a proud spiritual woman which I’ll dive into that part of my life at a later time, but I do pray that this post finds you all well and I continue to pray for the families who have lost loved ones, friends, and/or coworkers due to this disease. Now back to the regularly scheduled program lol .. How has this time in quarantine been treating you all? What have you all been up to during this time? I can assure you that this blog is a safe space for us all to just be vulnerable, learn from each other, and have fun. I know it hasn’t been easy, but I am confident that a lot of good will come out of this —it actually already has. I am looking forward to hearing about your experiences, but before we get into you all’s, I’ll share some of mine.
While in quarantine and honestly prior to (this is just an intentional extension of it), I’ve been doing a lot of self-reflecting and soul work as I am sure many of you have been as well. In addition to that, I’m doing a lot of self-care, cooking (check previous post), reading, bonding with my family, and partaking in some new “guilty pleasures” such as RuPaul’s Drag Race, DJ D-Nice’s Club Quarantine (which I had to go to “rehab” for —who knew one could party more at home than they would prior to this shut down), and Verzuz along with many other beneficial live content shared by other DJ’s/Creatives/Influencers alike, who have used this time to connect more with the masses virtually, in order to bring healing to some degree. I must say we have done and experienced that. Moreover, I’ve been drinking water in excess which has benefitted me in more ways than one, from my skin to my hair as you can see in my photo above, and of course my health. During this time I am learning to fully embrace this person (my authentic self) who I’ve been growing into before, during and after this season. It is truly a blessing. #Identify #Purpose #Love #Wellness #Healing
Furthermore, this pandemic wasn’t something that any of us could run from. It was literally a wake up call for us all to deal with the realities of this world and our personal lives. In addition, how we would use this moment in time to gain profound clarity, and make the necessary changes to rid our lives of the old, toxic and unhealthy habits (of functioning in dysfunction) that we’ve been holding onto, while embracing the newness that is being birthed. Ironically in some of my recent content that I created for my Instagram page, I formed the hashtag #BirthingNewnessThisSeason because that’s exactly what the intention of this season in life should be and naturally produce. We are reminded that although we have some sort of control of our lives, God is truly the only one in control. He is revealing that to us all, and will deliver us out of this wilderness season on his time as we gain what’s necessary for our next level.
Finally, as we enter the summer months I pray that we all remain safe, healthy, and mindful. Oh yea and don’t forget to have fun! You are all in control of creating the experiences that you want, so don’t let this new normal make you feel or think otherwise. Love you all and until next time.
Below I’ve attached the few books that I have completed thus far that are remarkably enlightening. Check them out and see if they interest you enough to purchase. My next read is The Power of NOW by Eckhart Tolle who has a way with connecting to the souls of his readers, and I love that. Enjoy!
